1959 - Start of relocation of the Special Long-Range Missile Design Bureau (SKB-385 dedicated to the development of long-range missiles) from Zlatoust (Urzhumka railway station) to Miass. An experimental plant (P.O. Box 120) was established on the basis of existing subdivisions of the former missile production plant No. 139 and shop No. 3.
1961 - P.O. Box was merged with Zlatoust Machine Building Plant. The production facility in Miass was renamed as Site No. 3. From this time forth production of missile assemblies, later on devices for the missile pre-launch procedures and telemetry control systems, for the Navy was established here.
1965 - Leading branch works No. 3 and instrument works No. 4 were formed and established, the complex system to test missiles and their control systems were expanded.
1979 - Automation of production of printed boards, identification plates, photomasks, luminiferous panels, UHF strip circuits was introduced. The ARM-M computer complex was put into service.
1985 - The first biscuits baking line was made (in cooperation with PO ZMZ).
1988 - The production association "Miass Machine Building Plant" (PO ZMZ) was established by appointment of the Ministry of General Machine Building on April 12th. The following industries were formed at the premises: Zlatoust Chemicals Plant and Miass Machine Building Plant. Due to the reduction in the volume of defense order it was decided to start the production of consumer goods. In the framework of the defence conversion a large quantity of civil items was produced.
1991 - The first bewery was manufactured.
1992 - A decree on the establishment of a separate entity was signed by the Ministry of Industry on February the 4th: the Miass Machine Building Plant got the status of juridical person.
1994 - Serial production of the first items of thermo electric control autocooling boxes VOYAZH.
1995 - The production of beer kegs was organized. The Russian-German joint venture GRIMMA-MIASS-NEFTEMASH was established.
1999 - The TERMAL radiators were put into serial production.
2001 - The plant was assigned the status of Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Miass Machine Building Plant". It was included into the structure of the Federal Space Agency. The Quality Assurance System of the Miass Machine Building Plant complied with the ISO 9001 requirements and the certificate was granted. The Russian-French joint venture MEZONNEV-KEG-MIASS was formed.
2005 - LED lighting devices of the SDS MMZ line were put into production.
2008 - On July 7th the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Miass Machine Building Plant" was reorganized into Open Joint Stock Company "Miass Machine Building Plant", legally registered as Zavod "Miass".
In accordance with a concept of structural reforms within the period from 2005 to 2010 Zavod "Miass" was absorbed by an integrated structure with the leading role of OAO "Makeyev GRTs".
